And don't forget to ride your bike to work next week during national
Bike to Work Week (May 12-16)
4-30-08 Busy Month!
In May there are several events coming up to celebrate cycling.
First off, remember that May is Bike to Work month, and of course,
around here anyway, it's one of the first months that we can actually
consistently get out and ride without worrying about snow! So, check
out these events and come ride with us! Click on the RIDES
page for more information on each of these.

[3-28-08] This Just In!
BLESSING OF THE BIKES will be held on Saturday, May
10th at 5:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 16 E. Van Buren
Street. It's a lovely and short service that prays for a safe and
enjoyable riding season. Service will be held in dry weather and
a short ride will follow.
Wednesday, May 14th there will be a ride promoting
and celebrating Battle Creek's bike lanes! Stay tuned for more info.
Wayne White has information on some great local rides.
Contact him at bikerider@battlecreekbicycleclub.org for more information.
[3-10-08] Many updates!
The local bike shops are starting rides soon! Please
contact them (see Links page for contact
info) for details. Find a group to ride with for more fun and fitness.
Team Active's End of Winter party was a great success!
Thanks for hosting it, guys!
Be sure to attend and help out at the Linear Park
Cleanup day on Saturday, April 12th. More info at Team Active's
website.
St. Thomas Episcopal
Church will once again host a Blessing of the Bikes. It will
be held on a Saturday in May, so stay tuned. It's a wonderful, short,
and pleasant liturgy that asks for a safe season of bicycling. Held
along the Linear Park.
The 2008 Ride of Silence will be held on Wednesday,
May 21st. Once again it will start and end at Getaway Sports on
Capital Ave. The ride will start at 7:00 p.m and this years's goal
is 100 RIDERS!! In 2006 we had 5, 2007 we had 60, so 100 is certainly
achievable. More info on the national event at the R.O.S. website.
[11-18-07]
Bikers get involved! Please make sure our voice is heard by the
BC City Commssion so we keep valuable resources such as bike lanes
and bike paths! Watch for emails from our board and stay in touch
with city commission meetings and know when important votes come
up. Visit your friends at Getaway Sports and Team Active for the
latest.
Also, the current information on the 2008 Cereal City
Century is on the CCC page. BIG, HUGE, MONSTROUS changes! Gonna
be cool, so save the date now!
Finally, at long last, you can ride a bit of history.
Go to the Rides page and check out the pdf documents of BCBC rides
from the 80's. Very cool!
